What happened to Zack Braff? For a minute it looked like he might be a big deal. But it appears none of the skinny, awkward, hilarious white dudes made it out of the early 2000s. Braff, Adam Brody, Topher Grace, and even Toby McGuire's stars have faded.
As a huge fan of Scrubs and the OC, this movie looked very interesting when it was released. But mediocre critical reviews and some negative comments from friends kept me from watching it. Not sure what mood resulted in me finally watching it.
The movie is about a bunch of men in varying degrees of shitty relationships. Mostly because they are shitty people. I hated all of them. Except Casey Affleck. Hope I'm not supposed to feel sorry for someone here.
The entire experience was gripping, like watching a train wreck, but I felt no sympathy for the train's occupants. It is as if they got on the train, killed the conductor, then tried to reason with the wall they were about to hit. I felt sorry for no one involved, but I wanted to watch the wreck. I walked away
feeling disturbed that I enjoyed any part of the process.
